Dokan Multivendor Plugin

Let us go through some of the features of Dokan Multivendor WordPress plugin.

As the name suggests, the plugin lets vendors set up their individual stores that can be customized to a great extent.

And no matter what WooCommerce theme you’re using, the plugin works flawlessly to help you create your multi-vendor marketplace. On top of that, Dokan also provides its own theme that you can use in case you have not chosen a WooCommerce theme yet.

Dokan Multivendor has a dedicated frontend dashboard for both the vendors and customers. From this dashboard, customers and vendors can manage product inventory, orders, sales, discounts, coupons, and more.

Since you’re running a multi-vendor marketplace, it’s fair that you also get a commission for the sales generated by the vendors.

To help you with this, Dokan Multivendor lets you charge commission globally on a vendor. You can also charge a special commission for individual products as well.

Apart from this, the plugin makes it very easy to manage coupons, reports, reviews, and more. Dokan provides individual dashboards for each specific function.

Here’s a quick rundown of the features available in Dokan Multivendor WordPress plugin:

It’s no doubt that Dokan Multivendor is a powerful plugin for setting up your own multi-vendor marketplace using WooCommerce.

But is it expensive?

Let’s take a look at the pricing of this feature-rich plugin:

As seen from the image above, Dokan Multivendor comes with a free plan that lets you add unlimited vendors and comes with several other features that can help you get started with your multi-vendor marketplace.

The starter plan costs $149 / year and includes some extra features such as commission types, vendor management, frontend products, social login, and more.

The subsequent plans include more and more features to help you build an advanced and very sophisticated marketplace inside WordPress.

If you’re just starting out, you should definitely go with the free plan to get your marketplace up and running. As your marketplace grows, you can move to the starter plan for more features.

2. WCFM Marketplace

WCFM Marketplace claims to be the most feature-rich multi-vendor marketplace plugin for WordPress. Let’s see if this holds true.

The plugin lets you set flexible commission rates for vendors. You can choose the commission based on the percentage, fixed-rate, by sales, purchase quantity, and more.

WC Lovers also comes with a shipping management system that lets the vendor manage the shipping of the products for their store. They can also track the shipping by adding a tracking code to ensure the product is delivered to the customer.

The plugin also allows a single product to be sold by multiple vendors that can help you get more sales.

WC Lovers has a lot of options for store management. This includes store SEO that lets the vendor configure their store for ranking purposes. Moreover, vendors can also generate coupons for their products easily.

The plugin also provides a feature for seller verification to help you verify sellers. On top of that, you can even create custom badges for sellers.

Vendors and admins can get notifications for sales, refunds, and other activities happening in the store. Admins can also make announcements to vendors easily.

Here’s a birds-eye view of the features of WC Vendors WordPress plugin:

At first, I was skeptical about their claim of the most feature-rich plugin. But I was wrong.

The above list of features is not even complete as the plugin is packed full of great features.

Let’s discuss the pricing of the plugin.

WC Vendors comes with a free version that includes a lot of the features of the plugin. The pro version that includes all the features costs $50 for 2-sites and 1 year of updates and support.

This honestly feels like a steal-deal when compared to the pricing of the other plugins mentioned in this list.

3. WC Marketplace

WC Marketplace is a WooCommerce multi-vendor plugin that lets you add multiple vendors for a single product.

With this plugin, vendors can clone, customize, and sell the same product in your marketplace. This helps make the marketplace more lucrative and transparent.

The plugin provides a dashboard to each vendor where they can manage their entire store. From this dashboard, vendors can track orders, manage their products, commissions, view sales, and more.

As an admin of the store, it is your responsibility to take care of your vendors. Whether it is guiding them in setting up their stores or sending them important announcements.

With WC Marketplace, you can communicate with your vendors by sending a message to the universal board. You can even send notifications and quick announcements to your vendors.

The plugin also lets you manage reviews and gives you control over who reviews the products. You can enable product reviews for only those users who have purchased the product.

There are different dashboards in the plugin that lets you and the vendors manage commissions, coupons, payments, reports, and more.

Here’s an overview of the features included in this plugin:

WC Marketplace is a great WooCommerce multi-vendor plugin and is very easy to use. Let’s talk about the pricing of this plugin.

But, to get some advanced features such as the frontend manager, advanced shipping, seller verification, and more, you’ll have to purchase individual add-ons.

The pricing of these individual add-ons varies from $20-$200 based on the add-on you want to purchase.

While the plugin is essentially for free, it can be a dealbreaker for you if you don’t like purchasing add-ons for different features.

Though the plugin is still a great choice for setting up a multi-vendor marketplace and if you’re looking for a free plugin, you should definitely give this a shot.

4. WC Vendors

WC Vendors also claims to have the most comprehensive shipping system where you can select the shipping type, national and international shipping fee, and more options.

There is also a dashboard that lets the vendors manage discounts and coupon codes.

Here’s an overview of the features of this WooCommerce multi-vendor plugin:

The pro version that includes all the features costs $199 / per year. You can also purchase the plugin with a one-time payment of $599.

Very useful list! Thank you! And I also want to add one more plugin that I am using, TrackMage Woo Shipment Tracking. Absolutely needed to give your customers and yourself peace of mind. It’ll save you hours needed to respond to customer inquiries about the whereabouts of their order.

Thanks for the article. I am thinking of launching such a site for a local area, so local pick-up options would be important and also I am thinking how to incorporate businesses that don’t sell products but maybe they’re the local electrician. Do you have any recommendations about theme or plugins? Thanks.

Unfortunately, all of the multi vendors have one crucial flaw, and that is the ability for vendors to print labels postage directly from the site, more so for us UK users in relation to our main carrier, Royal Mail. I’ve started using WCFM – Frontend Manager which is an exceptionally flexible multi vendor plugin, but the lack of integration for postage creation is a major let down. Even upgrading and having the ability to integrate with ShipStation still doesn’t offer Royal Mail integration, a massive killer in regards to functionality and for us something which should be standard, at least the major carriers in specific countries!

Does click and drop not offer this integration?

Please explain “commission”. In all of these plugins, does the site owner accept the money, and then pay commission to the vendors? I am looking for a solution where the vendors receive the money and pay the site host a commission. Is this possible? Thank you.

If you’re talking about the flat commission, I’d recommend you to try Dokan. It has flat commission feature.

I use WCFM Ultimate plus a couple of their other products on a large site. It’s a really great product but they are a victim of their own success. Support is almost non-existent now which is such a shame. It takes weeks sometime for any answers.

    Hi Ishtiak,

    Thanks for useful info.
Which plugin would you suggest for a B2B Multi-vendor site targeting the industrial sector.
    – Customers must be able to ask for a quotation.
    – Vendors must be able to set volume based pricing.
    – Vendors must be able to sell services including service contracts and recommend local service provider/partner.
    – It must be possible for vendors to show products by means of a Product Configurator like eg. wpconfigurator.com/theme/. Do you have any recommendation when it comes to a Product Configurator?

    Hope you can help 🙂

    Kind regards
    Peter

Which WooCommerce multi-vendor plugin is best? I am confused between these two WooCommerce multi vendor plugins Dokan or YITH.

This article https://www.cloudways.com/blog/woocommerce-multivendor-plugins/ from Cloudways they mentioned that Dokan is better.

But I am not a technical person I don’t understand the technical comparison between them. It would be really great if any developer or store owner can define me in simple words.

Dokan offers Stripe Connect add-on that allows sellers to get the payment instantly.

WCFM has an add-on for direct PayPal payment.

And YITH plugin has an add-on for Automatic PayPal Payouts.

        Hi,
But does it offer any direct payment to the seller through a bank account?
        (Vendor-Customer Direct Pay Option)

WCFM has Vendor-Customer Direct Pay Option in doc (https://docs.wclovers.com/tweaks/)but seller canot add bank account (number).

        Thank you.

Not sure if the PayPal payment is working. I know for sure that WCFM only have Stripe-Connect. It is a direct split of payment. My main concern is that I cannot seem to find a sollution where 3D secure payment is used…..
